Belor Awarded $18 Million Contract to Widen Bridge Footings on 407 ETR

TORONTO, May 14, 2006

407 ETR announced today that it had awarded Belor Construction Inc. an $18 million contract to widen 14 bridge footings on Highway 407 ETR between Highways 410 and 427, in preparation for new lanes.

“When the central 68 km section of Highway 407 ETR was first constructed, bridge footings underneath the highway were not constructed wide enough to accommodate more lanes,” said Antonio de Santiago, President and Chief Executive Officer of 407 ETR. “This contract addresses that, so construction of new lanes can get underway later this year and enhance traffic flow for our customers.”

The project will require about 7,000 cubic metres of concrete, 1,000 tonnes of steel and 100,000 hours of labour. Belor will follow an aggressive schedule to complete the project by the end of this year, after which another contract will be tendered for construction of additional lanes.

407 International Inc. is the sole shareholder of 407 ETR, the operator and manager of Highway 407, which extends 108 kilometres east-west, just north of Toronto. 407 International Inc. is owned by a consortium comprised of Cintra Concesiones de Infraestructuras de Transporte, Macquarie Infrastructure Group and SNC-Lavalin.
