Supporting customers and our communities during COVID-19
$4 million donation to United Way's network of agencies in Durham, Halton, Hamilton, Peel, Toronto and York:
We’re proud to be United Way’s first corporate partner in Canada to make a multi-year commitment to help support the immediate needs of communities and the longer-term recovery of the people living in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area from COVID-19. This 3-year partnership will help in 4 areas: food supply, isolated seniors, income/employment security and mental health. Check out the news release.
$1.2 million to GTHA Hospitals:
We’ve also donated $1.2 million to hospitals in the GTHA to help support their COVID-19 relief funds so they can secure PPE, medical equipment or supplies. These donations sent $50,000 to 24 hospitals across the highway and was in addition to our annual hospital donations to 19 hospitals.
Helping hospital staff:
As an act of our appreciation for hospital staff who continued to travel to-and-from work, we made an in-kind donation of over $300,000 in free 407 ETR travel for hospital staff in 24 hospitals across the GTHA.

Keeping the Greater Toronto & Hamilton Area beautiful through environmental partnerships
Protecting the environment so we can provide a clean and safe place for future generations is up to all of us. At 407 ETR, we do our part in many ways. We support incredible environmental organizations like Evergreen, Credit Valley Conservation Authority and A Greener Future so they can continue to operate critical environmental programs which help to make communities across the GTHA flourish.
We’re also proud to be the first corporate sponsor of the Credit Valley Trail Project, a beautiful 100-kilometre trail, which runs directly underneath the highway in Mississauga, Ontario.
Our environmental partners also help us in organizing volunteer opportunities for our staff to get their hands dirty during tree-planting and litter-cleanup events at nearby schools and parks.
Supporting GTHA hospitals along the corridor
Our health and happiness are two of the most important things in life. We thank the hospitals and broader healthcare institutions across the Greater Toronto & Hamilton Area for their commitment to keeping us healthy.
Each year, 407 ETR donates to 19 hospitals & healthcare institutions across the highway corridor to help support their areas of greatest needs so they can continue to take great care of us.

Supporting young minds in Education

Located minutes from the highway, staff and students at York University leverage the fast, safe and reliable choice to get to-and-from school everyday. We’ve supported York University each year since 2007 through scholarship funds and an annual $25,000 donation to Lassonde’s School of Engineering.

Keep Moving®

Learn moreDriving employee fundraising, volunteerism & charity events
We love to get involved when it comes to supporting local events and charities. You might find us at the Heart & Stroke Foundation’s Annual Ride for Heart, SickKids’ Icewave and Heatwave charity volleyball or softball tournaments, Canadian Cancer Society’s Golf-for-the-Cure or Mother’s Against Drunk Driving (M.A.D.D.) Annual Charity Golf Event, to name a few.
We encourage our staff to get involved with local charity events – so much that we match employee fundraising efforts and cover the registration fee at many of these events.
Each department is encouraged to go out into the community and spend a day (paid) volunteering at an organization of their choice. We’ve cultivated some amazing partnerships with great organizations across the Greater Toronto & Hamilton Area through our employee volunteering opportunities.

One Big Day
One Big Day is our flagship employee volunteer day where we are fully devoted to volunteering at incredible not-for-profit organizations along the highway. From building furniture for furniture banks, helping out at shelters, preparing and delivering meals to those in need, mentoring youth, supporting senior’s residences and cleaning up litter in green spaces, there are plenty of things to keep roughly 400 employees busy!
Connecting with Local Businesses
We’re proud to be active members of local Board of Trade & Chamber of Commerce organizations across the entire highway, including the Ontario Chamber of Commerce.
