407 ETR today announced toll changes which will come into effect on February 1, 2011.

Starting February 1, 2011, the price charged in various segments of the highway will change. Peak Period tolls for light vehicles travelling in the Regular Zone between QEW and Highway 403, between Highway 401 and Highway 400 and between Highway 404 and Brock Road will be 22.75 cents per kilometre. Toll rates during Peak Hours (weekdays between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.) will be 22.95 cents per kilometre in these segments.

Peak Period tolls for light vehicles travelling in the Light Zone between Highway 403 and Highway 401 and between Highway 400 and Highway 404 will be 21.25 cents per kilometre (21.45 cents per kilometre during the Peak Hours noted above).

407 ETR has budgeted over $60 million in 2011 to build new lanes and make other improvements. Since 1999, the company has invested $1.2 billion to expand and maintain the highway. New lanes completed in 2010 now bring the total number of individual lane kilometres on the highway to over 1,100.

"Significant investment in construction and expansion of the highway ensures we meet the objective of helping to relieve congestion on other GTA highways and local roads," said Jose Tamariz, 407 ETR President and Chief Executive Officer. "Our dedication to customer service, keeping traffic moving and maintaining the highway in the best possible condition continues to give millions of customers a fast, safe and reliable trip."
