Laura Formusa

Laura Formusa was appointed to the Board of Directors in July 2016. Ms. Formusa is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and was called to the Bar in 1980 after graduating from York University’s Osgoode Hall Law School.
Ms. Formusa has more than 30 years of experience in the electricity industry and served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Hydro One Inc. since 2007 until her retirement in 2012.
Ms. Formusa sits on the Board of Equitable Life Insurance Company of Canada, Tantalus Systems Holding Inc. where she serves as the Chair and Enmax Corporation where she serves as Chair of the Human Resources Committee. She has previously served on the boards of Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences, DHX Media Ltd., the Canadian Electricity Association, the Banting Research Foundation and York University.
She has been named to the Women’s Executive Network’s Canada’s Most Powerful Women Top 100 list and is now in the Hall of Fame. She is also a founding member of the Women of Energy group to advance women’s issues and to create critical networking opportunities for women in the energy sector.
