Your costs go towards essential services, including safety measures, highway maintenance, snow removal and policing to ensure your trip is as safe and smooth as possible.

What is a light vehicle?

A light vehicle is a car, van, SUV, or small truck (under 5,000 kg) that is less than 6.09 metres long (20 feet) and less than 2.03 metres high (6.66 feet). Most personal vehicles fall into this category.

This light vehicle classification was revised to better align rates with vehicle sizes and their wear and tear on the road.

Toll charges apply to all trips, even if you have a transponder. Your trip is based on the time of entry.

Security Deposit (when applicable)

For business accounts, applies to the first 20 transponders up to a maximum of $1,000.

Monthly Lease Fee

Charged monthly, regardless of trip count, plus an additional $1.20 per month for each transponder on the same account.

Annual Lease Fee

The annual fee is non-refundable and charged yearly, regardless of trip count. An extra $11.95 will be applied for each additional transponder on the same account, or $6 for each transponder added less than six months from account activation.

Transponder Replacement Fee

Applied in the event a transponder is misused, abused, lost or stolen, or not returned to us.

Unrecognizable Plate Charge

Applied each time a vehicle uses Highway 407 ETR without a valid transponder, and the front or rear licence plates are altered, not visible and/or not recognizable. Applies to travel on Highway 407 ETR only.

Applied for each returned unpaid payment due (for example, due to insufficient funds).

What happens if we can’t accurately capture your trip?

In the event that entry to Highway 407 ETR is not captured by our system, you may see the following charges.

Charge Name

Description

Calculated Trip Toll

The toll is calculated based on the average distance of the trips made using your transponder in the past 72 days.

Flat Toll (Peak Times)

Up to $9.75 plus camera charge

Applied when there is no transponder and travel is between 6 – 10:29 a.m. or 2:30 – 6:59 p.m. on weekdays.

Flat Toll (Off-Peak Times)

Up to $6.60 plus camera charge

Applied when there is no transponder and travel is outside of peak times.

Minimum Trip Toll

Applied when the vehicle has a transponder, but there is not sufficient trip history to apply a calculated trip. A toll is charged at the entry or exit nearest to the recorded part of travel.
